stamp review crew: forever fern

Hello, my crafty friends! I guess it’s been awhile since I have posted anything. I’m still here and creating, it’s just been a busy couple of months. A blog hop with The Stamp Review Crew is a great time to get back in gear. So, here we are, shining a spotlight on the Forever Fern stamp set.

I decided to go for a different color combo for these beautiful leaves – Coastal Cabana, Smokey Slate, and Basic Gray.

For my first card, I colored some embossing paste with Coastal Cabana ink refill and spread it through a stencil. The photo really doesn’t show off the great texture on the card.

My second card features a beautiful background created by stamping the leaves in Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Smokey Slate and the splatter in Basic Gray. Great way to create your own background paper in any color scheme you want!

stamp review crew: sale-a-bration

Hello friends! Welcome to another fun Stamp Review Crew blog hop. This time, instead of showcasing one stamp set, we are shining a spotlight on products in the first ever fall Sale-a-Bration brochure. These are products you can earn for free with a qualifying purchase.

I used the Delicate Dahlias stamp set for my projects. I used some fun watercolor techniques on my two projects.

On this first card, I stamped the dahlia in VersMark and heat embossed in white on watercolor paper. Next, I painted on a coat of clear water and dropped in color with ink refills and a paint brush. Once this first layer was dry, I went back in with my paint brush and added some deeper color to the flowers. I love this loose watercolor technique. So easy. Colors used are: Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue.

I used the same colors for my second card and added a little Pale Papaya. I free hand painted a watercolor background.

Once the panel was dry, I stamped the flowers and sentiment in black and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. Panel is mounted on a card base embossed with the Painted Texture 3D emboss folder.

osat blog hop: turning a new leaf

Welcome friends! I’m glad you stopped by today. It’s time for this month’s blog hop with the One Stamp at a Time team. The theme for this month is “Turning a New Leaf” – projects featuring leaves. My first thoughts of leaves bring me to fall, deep colors of turning leaves. Rich red, orange, yellow, brown… But, I’m not ready for that just yet. So, I opted for a different color scheme. I used Bermuda Bay and Pumpkin Pie. I really like how these colors work together.

To make the colored panel, I scribbled Pumpkin Pie and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends on a plastic ziplock bag. Then, I spritzed it with Isopropyl alcohol ( I used 90%), took a piece of shimmer white card stock and laid it onto the bag to soak up the ink. Once it was dry I stamped images from Very Versailles stamp set.

I used the Forever Flourishing dies to cut leaves out of vellum and the new cork paper.

I made my own wood grain paper for the card and tag base. Take a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and lightly drag Crumb cake ink pad and Whisper White ink pads across.

It was fun trying a couple of new techniques! Give them a try and let me know what you think.

stamp review crew: quiet meadow

Hello friends! I’m glad you stopped by. After taking a couple weeks off to enjoy some summer adventures, I am happy to be back hopping with the Stamp Review Crew. We are shining a spotlight on the new Quiet Meadow stamp set.

For my projects, I worked with the same color scheme of new In Colors: Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, and Fresh Freesia.

I started with a watercolor wash background. Once it was dry I stamped the text and flowers.

For this card, I did three watercolor swatches. Added some water droplets and blotted them up for added depth.

For the last card, I did some ink blending with blender brushes and a stencil.

I added some flower die cuts from the coordinating Meadow die set.

Quiet Meadow is an awesome set! Head on through the blog hop for more awesome inspiration. Head on over to talented Bronwyn’s blog by clicking the NEXT button below. If you are working backwards through the hop, head over to creative Nikki’s blog by clicking on the PREVIOUS button.

osat blog hop: Christmas in July

Hi there, friends! It’s One Stamp at a Time blog hop time. This month we are celebrating Christmas in July! I could use a little winter thinking. It has been an overly hot summer so far. So, let’s imagine a cozy winter day, with a warm sweater and a cup of hot cocoa. Here are my projects to celebrate Christmas.

I made a Christmas card and a little sour cream treat container featuring the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set and Tidings of Christmas DSP.

Colors used are Sahara Sand, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, and Cherry Cobbler. I love the prints in the Tidings of Christmas DSP. They really help a project come together quick.

The sour cream treat container was made from a 6″x6″ piece of DSP. I cut a couple of tags using the Tailor Made Tags dies to finish it off. The various size tags work together for a fun detail.

stamp review crew: artistically inked

Hello friends, welcome to the Stamp Review Crew blog hop featuring Artistically Inked. This set is part of the Expressions in Ink product suite in the 2021-2022 Stampin’ Up! catalog. This stamp set looks like an alcohol ink wash, without the hassle of alcohol inks! As usual with stamp sets that are part of a product suite, I decided to use some alternate colors to help you see beyond the limits of coordinating products. Let’s take a look

First up is s simple thank you card. Started with a Smokey Sate card base and added 1/4″ strips of Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, Balmy Blue and Fresh Freesia card stock. I stamped the ink was image in Smokey Slate and over-stamped the “thanks” in the coordinating card stock ink colors. The stamped panel was die cut with a stitched rectangle.

For my second card, I added a few more images and stamped a background panel in Smokey Slate and Polished Pink inks. I die cut the edge of the panel, and a Polished Pink strip with the NEW Basic Border dies. I love a bit of added detail. I embossed the sentiment in black. and added some Matte Black Dots to finish it off. This panel was mounted to a Smokey Slate card base with a bit of DSP from the Neutrals Assortment stack.

osat blog hop: boys in the hood

Welcome back friends! Today I am hopping with the One Stamp At Time team! Our theme for this month is “Boys in the Hood”. Focusing on projects for the guys in our lives. With Father’s Day around the corner, I knew what I wanted to focus on. These projects would work great for a birthday, with a few minor adjustments.

I took a more whimsical approach with fun card and gift box duo. I love the patterned paper from the Host exclusive Pattern Party DSP stack. For the little gift box I added Playful Alphabet die cut letters. I added foam adhesive sheet to Misty Moonlight cardstock before cutting out the letters.

I carried the Patterned Paper over to the card and brought in the Handsomely Suited stamp set. I’m a sucker for bow ties.

There is an extra fun element on the card. The bow tie spins! Check it out on my Instagram feed. I can’t get the video to post here.

Be sure to work your way through the full blog hop roster! There is a lot of great inspiration waiting for you.

stamp review crew: hand penned petals

Welcome, Crafty Friends, to today’s Stamp Review Crew blog hop! We are shining a spotlight on a fun new stamp set in the ’21-’22 Stampin’ Up! annual catalog – Hand Penned Petals. It is also part of the beautiful Hand Penned suite of products, which includes coordinating dies and Hand Penned DSP.

I took my inspiration from the Hand Penned DSP. I love the soft colors of the designer series paper and carried that over to some ink blending on the card base and die cut scalloped panel. I used blending brushes and Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Pool Party inks.

I highlighted the word “possible” with my Highland Heather Light Stampin’ Blends to help it stand out. A wonderful note of encouragement to share. Let’s go on and see what else is possible with this great stamp set! Head on over to Nikki by clicking the NEXT button below, or go back to Charlet by clicking the PREVIOUS button below.

osat blog hop: mash up

Hello friends! I’m am happy to be hopping with the One Stamp at a Time design team to share some creativity with you today. This month is the release of the NEW Stampin’ UP! annual catalog, so the OSAT team is bringing you a mash up blending old and new products.

For this card and gift box I used: new products Hand Penned Petals stamp set and coordinating dies, and Hand Penned and Pattern Party DSP, old products 2020-22 In Color Cinnamon Cider and Linen Thread.

I like the unexpected use of Cinnamon Cider for the florals, drawing from the same color in the DSP pattern.

I used the same general idea for the gift box, but used the Penned Flowers dies cut out of Cinnamon Cider card stock. I cut two of the floral image on top, glued the together except at the base which I folded out and adhered to the box top so it stands up.

osat blog hop: say what?

Hello friends! I am excited to be hopping once again with the One Stamp At A Time team! The theme for this month is Say What? We will be letting sentiments take center stage.

I made this card and standing art for a young gal I wanted to encourage. I thought the “Make Today Ridiculously Awesome” saying from the Ridiculously Awesome set was perfect for her.

I paired bright rainbow backgrounds with the bold black and white True Love DSP. I created the backgrounds with two different techniques. For the card I used Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape ink pads and Blender Brushes for a nice smooth gradient.

For the art piece, I used the same colors ink refills, water color paper, paint brush and water.

You definitely get a brighter color with the watercolor. I could have built a deeper color on the card if I had kept blending more layers of ink. Here is a closer look at the two techniques side by side – card on the left, art on the right.

I like the texture from the water color paper. I think it adds more dimensional interest. Both techniques are fun. You should give them a try! Time for you to move on to the next stop on the blog hop for some more fun inspiration featuring sentiments.
