woven heirlooms

Today’s card features the woven threads suite of products in the 2019-20 Stampin’ Up! catalog (p.12-13). This suite has beautiful vintage feel and features the NEW 2019-21 In Colors.

I thought a pocket card would work beautifully with this suite. It’s a great way to show off both sides of that gorgeous paper. Colors are Seaside Spray, Rococo Rose, Terracotta Tile and Sahara Sand.

I started with the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. I cut a 4″x11″ piece and scored at 5.5″ and 9.5″. Fold on the scored lines to create a pocket card. I trimmed .25″ off the 1.5″ fold and glued the reverse side up for and added detail on the flap. The pocket is created by the Braided Linen Trim wrapped around the card. There is no adhesive down the edges. The Woven Threads Trim adds a fun tassel detail under the flap. I fussy cut the sentiment and added a Flourish die cut. The coordinate nicely with this suite.

The insert is simply stamped with a couple of pearls for extra detail. Here’s a close up of some of the details.

I have to admit, the vintage look usually isn’t my style. But I am loving this product suite. It’s good to try something new! Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

off to great places

The NEW Stampin’ Up! catalog goes live tomorrow! I’m so excited for all of the new fun to be had. I was able to preorder a few items and have a few projects to share with you already. Today’s card uses a new set called Above the Clouds and coordinating Hot Air Ballon punch. It also introduces two of the new 2019-21 In Colors: Seaside Spray and Terracotta Tile.

Above the Clouds: You're off to Great Places - Center Stage Stamping

I stamped the balloon in Terracotta Tile ink on both Petal Pink and Terracotta Tile card stock and punched them out. I trimmed the top of the balloon and layered them together. The little scallop edge on the Crumb Cake flag is made with the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and adds a fun little detail.

This would be a great graduation card. Reminds me of Dr. Seuss’s “Oh the Places You’ll Go”. Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

still rosy

Looks like we have had our 2 days of spring for the year. This past Sunday was beautiful as was yesterday. otherwise, it has been cold and rainy for the past few weeks. (we won’t even talk about April…) Today it is supposed to be 80, so it looks like we are jumping right to summer. Minnesota, I think you skipped a step.

It is the last days for the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! catalog. So while we say goodbye to a lot of fun stamp sets and product, know that there are many great new things coming your way. The NEW 2019-20 catalog goes live on Tuesday, June 4! I’ve got some fun new projects waiting to share with you.

This also means that you only have a couple of days left to snag the Everything is Rosy medley! DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE! Is is simply gorgeous. I’ve got one more project to convince you you need this.

Everything is Rosy: congratulations - Center Stage Stamping

For the card base, I cut out the strip die and used it as a mask to sponge ink for a subtle background detail to frame the strips of the Everything is Rosy Designer Series Paper. Seriously, isn’t that paper ah-mazing? The picture really doesn’t do justice to the rose gold accents. The foil accents are the best! (I am really hoping Stampin’ Up! will bring out more Rose Gold products.)

So, what are you waiting for? Order this fantastic product medley before it is gone for good! You can get it in my online store here. Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

blessed sweet baby

Still waiting for Minnesota’s weather to catch up to the correct season. Sheesh. I really should move south. But then there are more snakes and spiders and other creatures. Hmmm… Minnesota, get your act together!

Meanwhile, I have had some more fun in my studio with the Everything is Rosy medley. My daughter and son-in-law’s best friends just had a sweet little baby girl! So, naturally I had to make a card for this little bundle.

I LOVE the floral prints in this DSP stack. This delicate print was perfect for a baby card! I did a wash with the Rose Gold Shimmer paint before I stamped the “Blessed” from the new To A Wild Rose set. Of course I had to decorate the envelope as well.

Here’s a closer look at some details:

Memorial Day

Remembering those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom.

Thank you.

We will not forget.

everything is rosy dear friend

Well, it is May 23 and Minnesota weather is still yucky. I want a spring do over. Remind me why do I live here again? I guess I will just keep bringing out the spring in my craft room by creating with bright colors and flowers. The Everything IS Rosy Medley from Stampin’ Up! is currently in a prominent place on my desk.

: Dear Friend card - Center Stage Stamping

I had to throw in my rose gold pineapple in the back ground again. I LOVE this designer series paper. The Rose Gold accents are just ah-mazing! I need more of it. I added the little dots of Rose Gold shimmer paint with the stylus tip of my Take Your Pick tool. I LOVE the Everything Rosy medley. Especially all the glorious ROSE GOLD accents. It fits perfectly in my studio which is full of rose gold accents. Here’s a look at the top corner of my Ikea Kallax shelf:

And check out these gorgeous necklaces my friend Michelle over at Stampin’ Robin made for me with the Everything is Rosy dsp!

Love, love, LOVE them! Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

stamp review crew: lilypad lake

The Stamp Review Crew is back! Today we are featuring the wonderful Lilypad Lake. I hope you will hop through and check out the wonderful creations the design teams have to share with you!

For my first card, I went for an ombre background using Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay. I stamped the Crane in Gray granite and added a few Pool Party shadows with my aqua painter. Embossing folders help add texture and interest to an otherwise simple card. Pinewood Planks on the card base and Subtle on the Stitched Circle die cut.

My second card went a bit more rustic with the help of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper. Reminds me of a framed painting. The sun and sentiment banner are colored with Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends.

What is the Stamp Review Crew? We are an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that get together to create projects using a specific stamp set. We blog hop on the first and third Monday of each month. I’m excited for you to see what my talented friends have created.

everything is rosy

I love Rose Gold. In fact, it is the accent color in my white and gray studio. I even found rose gold drawer pulls! When Stampin’ Up! announced the Everything Rosy Medley and we saw that Rose Gold was a prominent feature, I knew I HAD to have it. And I was not disappointed. It is GORGEOUS! The rose gold foil highlights, mirror disc embellishments and shimmer paint are fan-tab-u-lous! I may need to order a second kit so I don’t run out. Oh, and did I mention, you can create Ah-Mazingly cute projects with it! Check it out –

The photo doesn’t do justice to the gorgeous rose gold foil on the designer series paper, die cuts or the spatter of rose gold shimmer paint. The Everything Rosy kit comes with sheets of printed and rose gold die cuts that help cards come together even faster.

I adhered the strip of DSP to the inside of the card and trimmed of 1.5″ from the card front for a unique look. The sentiment label and die cuts hang over the front edge. I LOVE everything about this kit. Grab yours today – but hurry it is only available until May 31!

flowers bloom

Flowers aren’t blooming here quite yet. This has been the winter that never ends. Ugh. It snowed here last Thursday night. Thankfully it was all gone by morning, but Duluth got 8 inches! Someone please file a missing season report and get the authorities searching to find Spring! At least flowers can always be found in my studio!

Here is a fun pocket card to brighten someone’s day. I started with a piece of 6″x6″ blueberry Bushel DSP folded in half. I folded over the top corner and adhered the open edges to create the pocket. The pull out tag can also double as a bookmark.

Colors are Blueberry Bushel, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist. Stamp set Is All That You are in the 2019 Occasions catalog.

Hopefully I can get flowers planted in my yard and front step planter soon. Bring on summer! Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

inky friends: last chance blog hop

The new Stampin’ Up! catalog is coming! That means lots of exciting, fun new stamp sets to create with. It also means that we need to say good-bye to others. For today’s Inky Friends Last Chance Blog Hop we are going to showcase some of those wonderful sets that are bidding us farewell.

My projects put the super fun set Blow Out The Candles on stage. I think this set was really overlooked in the catalog. Which is a shame. It is some much fun! Be sure to grab it for yourself before it is gone for good.

My first card is a really quick one with a bright color scheme. Pool Party, Gorgeous Grape, and my FAVE Lemon Lime Twist. This would be great to make a bunch of cards to have on hand in different color schemes.

I stepped things up with this next card. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!!

I wanted another bright color palette, so I went with Coastal Cabana, Poppy Parade and (surprise) Lemon Lime Twist. I also used the Stitched Shapes and Stitched Labels framelits for some added detail. Finished off with a tiny little knot of Poppy Parade striped ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check out the rest of the stops on the blog hop for more amazing inspiration. From here you can go on to Rhonda or back to Sara. You can find the full blog roll on the Inky Friends page.
