gather together & give thanks

Happy Thanksgiving! We are so truly blessed and have many things to be thankful for! I am so looking forward to having all my kids home together. These times are harder to get, so I truly treasure every moment. We will definitely gather together and give thanks!

Enjoy your day! May your Pumpkin Pie be loaded with whipped cream! (Mine will be!)

thinking of you

Just popping in with a quick card today. This one shows off the beautiful Come to Gather Designer Series Paper. I just love the soft colors of this print, not your typical fall/ Thanksgiving colors.

The sentiment is from Rustic Retreat and the die cuts are from Stitched Shapes, Seasonal Layers, and Animal Friends. I added some ink spatter to the white stitched circle to echo the spatter on the DSP/ . Quick and easy card!

Christmastime is here

Christmas is coming! But, the Christmastime is Here product Suite from Stampin’ Up! is almost gone! It is only available until the end of November. Don’t miss out on getting yours. It is a beautiful suite and works for more than just Christmas projects.

One great thing is that images in the Designer Series Paper can be cut out with the Roses Dies! All the hard work is done for you. You can make a gorgeous card in a matter of minutes! Like the floral centerpiece in this card –

I added a piece of retired black and white striped DSP from my stash. I love the contrast it provides. This DSP is just gorgeous! I may need to get another pack before it is gone.

you are the happy

Ok, we return you to your previously scheduled season. Fall has returned…for the moment. The colored leaves and crisp air are here. I breathe a sigh of relief. So let’s celebrate that with today’s card.

I started with the Come to Gather designer series paper from the 2019 Holiday Catalog. I added a layer of retired Woodgrains dsp. It really is one of my all time favorites. The Sentiment is from the Country Home stamp set. I fussy cut 2 pumpkins from the DSP and colored them with a blender pen and ink refill. The leaves are In the Woods and Frosted Bouquet dies.

get well soon

I’m back with another card featuring the stamping on designer series paper technique.  I had so much fun creating the first one, naturally, I had to try it with a different pattern.   Today’s card features the same Healing Hugs stamp set and Tropical Escape designer Series Paper.  This time I used the Basic Black tiny dots pattern and Coastal Cabana, Lemon Lime Twist and Gray Granite.

Healing Hugs: get well soon - Center Stage Stamping

I just love this stamp set! The big bold rose and leaves and the leaf outline work so well together .  A beautiful card to brighten someone’s day.   I love how you can change up designer series papers.  I have a few more dsp patterns I want to try this with.  Try it for yourself and let me know what you come up with!

That’s a wrap for today.  Please, join me again to put a spotlight on creativity.

healing vibes

It has been raining and dreary here all week.  I just want to curl up with a warm blanket and watch movies all day.  Or hide out in my craft studio and stamp all day!  I have been working on some fun projects and I cant’ wait to share them with you.  One of my favorite things to work with is designer series paper.  Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper is a versatile tool to have in your crafting arsenal.  It is a great way to add detail and can make a simple project really stand out.  But, it doesn’t have to stop there.  You can stamp on it and personalize it even more.

Healing Vibes - Center Stage Stamping

For this card, I took the Basic Black striped sheet from the Tropical Escape 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper and stamped the flower and leaves from Healing Hugs.  I used Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist and Gray Granite.  The card base is Basic Gray and the Sentiment is stamped in Basic Black on Gray Granite card stock.  I cut out some Lemon Lime Twist leaves from the Animal Friends thinlits and a Berry Burst Stitched Shapes circle.  I also ran the stitched circle through the Big Shot with the Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  A wonderful way to send some get well wishes to a friend.

Time for a design challenge from My Inky Friends! For this challenge, we are featuring a square sketch, inspired by page 16 of the Annual Catalog.

I decided to use some new items from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog which goes live tomorrow!  It is chock full of fantastic goodies for all of your holiday projects!  For this challenge, I used the Dashing Deer Bundle – stamp set and coordinating thinlits – and the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper. Oh. My. Goodness.  It is sooooooo pretty!  The copper foil accents are stunning.

Dashing Deer Happiest Christmas

Colors are Sahara Sand, Gray Granite and Copper.  A close up look at a few details:

The vellum circle is cut out with one of the Stitched Shaped Framelits.  The sprig is from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits (part of the Frosted Floral Suite) cut out of Copper Foil.  For the Soft Suede strip I crumpled it up then separated the layers so it has a look of suede (difficult to see in the photo). I used the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint and the stylus end from the Take your Pick too. to put the copper details on the image at the bottom of the card.

Finished project is a 5″x5″ card.  I love the neutral tones on this.  What a fantastic Christmas greeting to send.

Head over to My Inky Friends blog and check out the other projects based on this sketch.  I hope you will join us and play along.  Create your project based on this sketch then upload a link to it on My Inky Friends blog to share it with us.  We love to see your projects!

dear friend

I was playing around with the P.S. You’re the Best stamp set.  I just love the typewriter.  I started by adhering a panel of the Share What You Love DSP to a Whisper White card base.  I set this inside a folded piece of vellum card stock to soften the DSP some.

Dear Friend, P.S. You're the Best - Center Stage Stamping

I colored this cute little typewrite with Mint Macron Stampin’ Blends.  Seriously, these markers are the BEST!  It is so easy to get great shading and depth.  I added a Petal Pink watercolor wash on the “paper”.  Once it was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment.  I popped this up with dimensionals on a piece of Wood Textures DSP that I had punched notches out of with my 1/2″ circle punch and wrapped with Linen Thread.  I finished up with three of the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls.

This makes me think of an author working away at a quaint little cottage with a wonderful flower garden.  Like maybe where L.M. Montgomery might have written Anne of Green Gables.  Yeah, I like that.

That’s a wrap for today.  Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to come back and join me again as I put a spotlight on creativity!

in the stars

My studio remodel is slowly moving forward.  We should be ready to prime the ceiling and walls this week!  Once primed, we can paint and then we can move my desk back in!  I am getting really excited.  I have been thinking about decor for the room.  I am planning a trip to Hobby Lobby this week to get some ideas.  I can’t wait to share photos of the finished room!

I have been able to get some stamping done at my temporary location.  Although it is difficult with a small fraction of the space I’m used to and many more distractions being in the center of family activity, it isn’t all bad.  I am enjoying the company of my daughter and son who are home from college for the summer.  Here is one of the cards I create at my kitchen desk.  I used the new Little Twinkle stamp set and coordinating Twinkle Twinkle designer series paper.

written in the stars - Center Stage Stamping

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and did a simple wash of Petal Pink with my aqua painter and ink refill.  Once that was dry, I stamped the heart constellation in Night of Navy and the small star cluster in Petal Pink.  I layered this onto small strips of the striped pattern paper and then onto the Night of Navy layer, which is adhered onto a thick Whisper White card base. the sentiment is stamped on Petal Pink card stock and cut out.  Finally I added a little Nigh of Navy bakers twine and a few rhinestones.  A fun card that could be used for a variety of occasions.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!
