stamp review crew: sale-a-bration

Hello friends! Welcome to another fun Stamp Review Crew blog hop. This time, instead of showcasing one stamp set, we are shining a spotlight on products in the first ever fall Sale-a-Bration brochure. These are products you can earn for free with a qualifying purchase.

I used the Delicate Dahlias stamp set for my projects. I used some fun watercolor techniques on my two projects.

On this first card, I stamped the dahlia in VersMark and heat embossed in white on watercolor paper. Next, I painted on a coat of clear water and dropped in color with ink refills and a paint brush. Once this first layer was dry, I went back in with my paint brush and added some deeper color to the flowers. I love this loose watercolor technique. So easy. Colors used are: Magenta Madness, Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue.

I used the same colors for my second card and added a little Pale Papaya. I free hand painted a watercolor background.

Once the panel was dry, I stamped the flowers and sentiment in black and die cut with a stitched rectangle die. Panel is mounted on a card base embossed with the Painted Texture 3D emboss folder.

stamp review crew: sale-a-bration bonus blog hop 2

Hello crafty friends! The Stamp Review Crew is back with a bonus blog hop to showcase Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration brochure. These are fun products that you can get FREE with a qualifying purchase through the end of February. If you see something you like, don’t miss out! Order soon!

I have a couple more projects featuring the Berry Blessings stamp set. This set is part of a bundle – includes stamp set and coordinating Designer Series Paper – you can get with a $100 order. This time I am focusing just on the stamp set. Let’s see what we can do…

For this first card, I used the blueberries stamp and some ink blending with the new Blending Brushes to create a fun background.

I used Misty Moonlight, Gorgeous Grape and Rich Razzleberry inks. First I blended them on a piece of Basic White card stock, then I stamped the berries. This panel is cut with a Stitched Rectangle die as is the sentiment. Finished off with a few Opal Rounds.

For my next card, I took the berry fill in stamp and went in a totally different direction.

I stamped the berries in Coastal Cabana, Pumpkin Pie, and Crushed Curry to create fun dotted panel. The rest of the details on the card come from the Pattern Play stamp set. The gray is actually silver embossed.

Let’s go check out some more amazing projects! You can click on the NEXT button below to head over to Cindy or click on the PREVIOUS button to go back to Mike.

stamp review crew: sale-a-bration bonus

Hello crafty friends! The Stamp Review Crew is back with a BONUS blog hop this month! Normally, we put one stamp set center stage and everyone in the blog hop creates projects with that set. For this hop we are shining a spotlight on the different stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration brochure. (You can get these sets FREE with a qualifying purchase.)

My project uses the Berry Blessings stamp set and Berry Delightful DSP – a fun bundle you can get with a $100 purchase.

Doesn’t this card make you think of a summer picnic, warm summer days and snacks of delicious fresh berries. Maybe staring at projects made with this will help me through the long winter here in MN… sigh.

pcc #408

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to the first Paper Craft Crew challenge of the new year. If you are unfamiliar with the Paper Craft Crew, it is a fun challenge blog that has weekly craft challenges to help jump start your creativity. I am honored to be part of the PCC Design Team. We are going to start the year with a fun vertical card sketch.

Of course, when I looked at this sketch I saw those 3 triangles and naturally I thought…Strawberries! (OK, so maybe I had some new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Sale-A-Bration on my desk that might have influenced that a bit.) I grabbed the Berry Blessings Stamp set and Berry Delightful DSP – which is a fun bundle you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase from Jan. 5-Feb 28- and got to work. Here is my take on the sketch.

I cut out the large strawberries from one sheet of the DSP and used another for the background panel. I had a fun sheet of burlap paper that I found at Hobby Lobby and thought it was a great base for the berry trio.

Well, now I am longing for warm summer days and fresh strawberries…. Sigh, it will be awhile before that happens.

Come on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog and play along!

lily impressions

Hello friends! I have a fun card to share that puts several products from the Sale-a-Bration brochure center stage. This project features the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper and Lily Pad Dies.

I started with a Purple Posy card base and stamped the All Wired Up background stamp in Gorgeous Grape. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings. Isn’t that DSP gorgeous! Each design in the pack was hand painted by an artist at Stampin’ Up! and then turned into the DSP.

sending a little something

Hello 2020, I’m ready to kick off another decade of shining a spotlight on creativity! Did you make any New year’s resolutions? I usually don’t, but this year I mad a resolution to actually SEND the cards that I make. So, I’m joining the #mailitmonday movement and plan to send out at least 3 cards every Monday. Let’s see if I can do it!

January also brings the start of a NEW Stampin’ up! mini catalog and Sale-a-Bration! So many fun new products to spotlight. Today’s card combines some fun products from the mini catalog my favorite item from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. Check it out –

The beautiful black and white paper is from the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. My FAVE of the SAB choices this year. The sentiment is from another Sale-a-Bration choice, the Sending You Thoughts stamp set. From the Mini Catalog we have the Stitched So Sweetly dies (I am a sucker for the stitching look) and Detailed Bees dies. The bee is cut out of Gold Foil and looks so striking up close.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

stamp review crew: swirly frames

Hello crafty friends! We are going to send out 2019 with one last Stamp Review Crew blog hop for the year! What a year of inspiration it has been. Join the SRC design team as we shine a spotlight on Swirly Frames.

Swirly Frames is generally a set to use as a back ground or subtle detail. It was a fun challenge to take a set that is usually in a supporting role and put it center stage. For my first card, I drew inspiration from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration catalog and the stunning Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper. This paper looks like it came from an art gallery. So I thought why not make a card simulating an art display.

I overlapped some squares and added bits of the dsp to look like they were framed. A few Glitter Enamel Dots add some fun detail. Colors used are Gorgeous Grape, Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, and Coastal Cabana.

My next card was inspired by art projects we did in elementary school. we would draw a bunch of random shapes and color in sections that overlapped. I decided to do the same with the two circle stamps in the Swirly Frames set.

I colored the circles with Stampin’ Blends: dark highland Heather, Light Bermuda Bay, dark Lovely Lipstick, dark Granny Apple Green. The WISH is from the Broadway Lights die set.

I think Swirly Frames is great in a leading role, don’t you?

Now it is time for you to continue on with the SRC blog hop. Head on over to Cindy and her fantastic creations by clicking on the NEXT button below. Or you can go back to Holly and her inspiring projects by clicking on the PREVIOUS button.

Thinking of Springtime

I am so over winter – COME ON SPRING!  It has been cloudy with snow, sleet, rain then sleet again today. I am done.  Brett has been gone for the past week taking Stamp-n-Storage on the road to Arizona and California.  I am a little jealous. I need sunshine and warmth.

Today’s card is featuring the Sale-a-Bration Springtime Foil Specialty DSP.  This paper is gorgeous!  The picture really doesn’t show off how stunning this paper really is.  The metallic shine is so pretty.  And this pattern features gold and my favorite Rose Gold!  I really hope Stampin’ Up! brings out more Rose Gold stuff.  Ooooh – how about a Rose Gold embossing powder!  That’s what I need.  Anyway, here’s todays card.

Springtime Foil - Center Stage Stamping

I kept it very simple to let the beauty of the paper stand out.  The flowers are rose gold foil. The flower centers and dots are gold foil.  As I said, the photo doesn’t capture the elegance of the Rose Gold. The sentiment is from the Heartfelt Blooms set.  I stamped it in black on Gold Foil paper.  The Springtime Foil specialty designer series paper would be perfect for wedding cards. Grab this paper while you can – once Sale-a-Bration is done, it is gone forever!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

-Mary
