DSP

pcc #440

Hi, Friends! Welcome to another awesome challenge with the Paper Craft Crew!

Check out this fun layout:

This design is great for using up card stock and patterned paper scraps! I love mixing patterns on a layout like this. So many different look are possible.

For this card I used Stampin’ Up!’s Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper and Biggest Wish stamp set. “Birthday” is stamped in Magenta Madness ink to coordinate with the paper. “Happy” was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. Threw on a little Soft Succulent gingham ribbon. I like how the simple gingham contrasts with the elegant hints of gold in the DSP.

Hello crafty friends. It’s Wednesday, that means a new challenge from the Paper Craft Crew. This week’s color challenge was perfect for me!

Hmmmm…bet you can’t guess what combo I did. Yep, Black, white and pink with a pop of silver glimmer. Hey, when something works, why mess with it. 🙂

I had a panel from the Pattern Play DSP stack and added lines with aPolished Pink Stampin’ Blend. It gives so many options with the black and white DSP! The glimmer paper stars bring an added bang.

osat blog hop: where the wild things grow

Hello friends! Welcome to this month’s One Stamp At A Time blog hop: Where the Wild Things Grow. The blog hop team will be showcasing projects that feature plants. When this theme came up, I know I’d be reaching for the beautiful Forever Greenery DSP and Forever Fern stamp set. I set out to create a card and blessings journal for a friend.

I created a fun pocket card from the gorgeous DSP.

For the blessings journal:

I cut several sheets of Whisper White card stock to 5.5″x7″, scored the 7″ side at 3.5″. These were folded in half, then stacked together with the DSP cover and stapled on the center fold to create the booklet. I added a stitched rectangle and some of the fern dies on the front cover and wrapped it with a Crumb Cake belly band to hold it shut.

The corners of the inside pages were stamped with one of the leaf images in Soft Sea Foam ink. It doesn’t show up very well in the photo, but it’s there.

The booklet has one page for each month to write down things you are grateful for. At the end of the year you can look back and be reminded of your many blessings.

Time to go check out the rest of the blog hop! PLEASE CLICK THE BLUE BOX FOR A POP UP LIST OF THE DESIGN TEAM. Then click on the next person on the list to continue on your way.

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to the first Paper Craft Crew challenge of the new year. If you are unfamiliar with the Paper Craft Crew, it is a fun challenge blog that has weekly craft challenges to help jump start your creativity. I am honored to be part of the PCC Design Team. We are going to start the year with a fun vertical card sketch.

Of course, when I looked at this sketch I saw those 3 triangles and naturally I thought…Strawberries! (OK, so maybe I had some new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Sale-A-Bration on my desk that might have influenced that a bit.) I grabbed the Berry Blessings Stamp set and Berry Delightful DSP – which is a fun bundle you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase from Jan. 5-Feb 28- and got to work. Here is my take on the sketch.

I cut out the large strawberries from one sheet of the DSP and used another for the background panel. I had a fun sheet of burlap paper that I found at Hobby Lobby and thought it was a great base for the berry trio.

Well, now I am longing for warm summer days and fresh strawberries…. Sigh, it will be awhile before that happens.

Come on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog and play along!

grateful, thankful, blessed

With Thanksgiving this week, I had to create a little something to reflect my thoughts. I had this fun paper stack from Simple Stories and it was perfect for this project.

In the midst of all the confusion and chaos, count your blessings. I am truly grateful, thankful and blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

hello fern

I’m back with another card using the Forever Fern stamp set. When I get a stamp set that is part of a product suite, or has coordinating designer series paper, I make sure to create some projects without using the DSP or colors in that suite. It helps me find more potential in those sets.

Today’s card is one I created for a card swap with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

I used some In Good Taste DSP. I absolutely LOVE woodgrain papers. I also added in the script stamp from Very Versailles. I decided to completely stay away from any green and instead used Terracotta Tile and Early Espresso.

to a friend

Hello crafty friends! Do you have a friend that makes you smile? I am thankful to have a few. Today’s card is a great one to let them know you appreciate them. It uses products from the new Forever Greenery Suite.

I absolutely LOVE that paper! The shades of green are just gorgeous. The Forever Fern stamp set has great leaf images. Perfect for any occasion. Plus there are coordinating dies to cut them out! Paired with the gold hoops you can create a cute wreath focal point.

Isn’t that Just Jade gingham ribbon great! I love it paired with the paper. So much fun to work with!

follow your heart

There are so many great new products in the Jan – Jun 2020 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog. I absolutely love the Parisian Blossoms Suite of products. The Parisian Beauty stamp set and coordinating Parisian dies are inspiring. The Parisian Blossoms DSP is beautiful. And this suite includes one of my favorite products in the mini catalog – Champagne Rhinestones!

I paired these products with a Basic Gray card base. The deep gray is a beautiful compliment to the colors in the dsp. The flourish die cut from Champagne foil adds a bit of texture and detail.

lily impressions

Hello friends! I have a fun card to share that puts several products from the Sale-a-Bration brochure center stage. This project features the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper and Lily Pad Dies.

I started with a Purple Posy card base and stamped the All Wired Up background stamp in Gorgeous Grape. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Greetings. Isn’t that DSP gorgeous! Each design in the pack was hand painted by an artist at Stampin’ Up! and then turned into the DSP.

wishing you happiness

Hello friends! I have had a nice stretch in my craft studio and boy has it felt good. Sometimes the ideas are really flowing and other times I just don’t know what to make. When that happens, I like to check out some challenge blogs for inspiration. This week I found a fun sketch at TGIF Challenges and decided to have a go with it.

This sketch is a great way to use up some DSP scraps. I really liked the layout, so I stayed pretty true to it. I just extended the horizontal piece across the entire card.

I love the softness of the Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper – Pool Party, Petal Pink with a touch of Champagne Foil. This sentiment from So Sentimental works for a variety of occasions. Of course I had to add some Champagne Rhinestones! It is hard to see in the photo, but the white layer is embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder. Here is a closer look:

Go check out the fun at TGIF Challenges and play along! The TGIF design team is ridiculously talented. You are sure to be inspired.
