Christmas

osat blog hop: Christmas in July

Hi there, friends! It’s One Stamp at a Time blog hop time. This month we are celebrating Christmas in July! I could use a little winter thinking. It has been an overly hot summer so far. So, let’s imagine a cozy winter day, with a warm sweater and a cup of hot cocoa. Here are my projects to celebrate Christmas.

I made a Christmas card and a little sour cream treat container featuring the Tidings & Trimmings stamp set and Tidings of Christmas DSP.

Colors used are Sahara Sand, Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen, and Cherry Cobbler. I love the prints in the Tidings of Christmas DSP. They really help a project come together quick.

The sour cream treat container was made from a 6″x6″ piece of DSP. I cut a couple of tags using the Tailor Made Tags dies to finish it off. The various size tags work together for a fun detail.

Thanks for stopping by! It’s time for you to continue on through the blog hop.

those we hold most dear

It is amazing the connection you can make with a hand made card. It is a special way to reach out to your friends and family. Connect with those we hold most dear. Every card I make has a little bit of me that goes with it. My creativity, thoughts, smiles… So much to pass on to another.

In a world filled with instant messaging, email and texts, don’t underestimate the power of holding a card in your hands. It is a tangible connection. It is important that we don’t let go of these moments. Share hand made joy!

Have a Happy New year! I hope you will join me as I continue to shine a spotlight on creativity in 2021!

special moments

Today’s card is another special order. It will be sent to someone who recently had their first baby. I was asked to somehow incorporate that into the card. I knew the snow globe with mama and baby bear would be perfect.

I opted for a soft color pallet – Sahara Sand card base, Whisper White panel, Pool Party, Highland Heather and Petal Pink blended in the snow globe. The trees are cut out of both vellum and glitter paper and the bears are cut out of white flocked paper.

It was a lot of fun designing this card. I had my 9 month old granddaughter on my mind the whole time. She definitely influenced this creation.

slice of joy

As we reach the end of December, I have a couple Christmas cards left to share with you. Today I am mad for buffalo plaid! There is something about the red and black check that screams winter to me.

This card uses the Buffalo Check back ground stamp, Pretty Pines dies (retired) and Joy die from Stampin’ Up! and Crimped Frame and Wood Slices dies from The Greetery

A fun, rustic way to send some Christmas JOY! I am so excited to share my granddaughter’s first Christmas! It definitely adds a new JOY to the season! I hope you have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

sending holiday cheer

I have to share one more card featuring the Taylored Expressions Fluffy Friends set. I have used the polar bear and reindeer, but I had yet to use the sweet little penguin. So, I decided he had to have his moment in the spotlight.

I used a stencil to add a fun pattern to the card base. I am really liking the mini slim line cards. They measure 3.5″ x 6″. This little guy is sure to spread lots of holiday cheer!

We are down to the last two Paper Craft Crew challenges for 2020! This one is a two week challenge. You have extra time to play along! This challenge is to feature your favorite holiday stamp set.

This was a really hard decision for me. I love so many of my Christmas stamp sets. I finally settled on O Holy Night from Papertrey Ink. It has phrases from many Christmas hymns. For my card I chose to use “Joy to the World”.

I printed the music on some vanilla card stock. The sentiment is embossed in white on a stitched die cut circle. I used the Pine Boughs die from The Stamp Market cut in two shades of green, a plaid bow, and some red rhinestones to finish off the card.

have a dog-gone good Christmas

I have to say I am especially happy with my card today. It was a special order for someone. She wanted a card for her adult son who works with dogs. I pulled out the Playful Pets designer series paper and used my Scan N Cut to cut out a bunch of these adorable pups. Then I had to figure out how to turn it into a Christmas card. Why not have the puppers decorating a tree?

I’m sure those gifts are full of chewy bones and squeaky toys for the good doggos. This one makes me smile every time I look at it. Which reminds me, I need to pick up the chewy treats for my pup, my son’s dog and my daughter and son-in-law’s three dogs! Every pup should have a gift under the tree!

Hello my crafty friends! The Paper Craft Crew is here with another awesome card sketch challenge to inspire you.

I still had the Fluffy Friends – Holiday set by Taylored Expressions on my desk. I pulled out some old patterned paper and voila – this fun winter card came together.

I can’t get enough of that adorable little polar bear! Add in his little hat flying off as he speeds down the hill, and you have cuteness overload! Bear, sled and hat were colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is heat embossed on Kiwi Kiss card stock and fussy cut out.

You should check out The Paper Craft Crew blog for more inspirations from the Design Team. Then, make your own creation based on the sketch and share it with us! Thanks for stopping by! Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

peace tree

I usually don’t keep a lot of smaller scraps around. When I was working on this card I had trimmed several narrow strips from the gorgeous watercolored panel. I had them laying on my desk and this card design popped into my head. So I decided to use those scraps!

I love the punch of color against the embossed trees. I die cut Christmas tree accented with a tiny Magenta Madness tag adds a fun focal point. So much awesome texture on this one! Another fun Christmas card in my stash!

Hello, crafty friends! Can you believe it is December already? This crazy year time has seemed to drag and fly at the same time. Well, let’s kick off this month with a fun Paper Craft Crew challenge!

I am in full Christmas mode now, so naturally I had to pull out some new stamps to use on this sketch.

These fun trees from The Stamp Market are great for a non traditional color scheme. I also used some gorgeous inks and glitter paper from The Stamp Market. Fun, Fresh and Festive!
