Christmas

blessed Christmas wishes

Welcome friends! Now that Thanksgiving has had its moment, it is time to head into Christmas mode. My playlists are ready. Bring on the decorations and hot cocoa. (You can keep the snow, cold weather and short days though.). This month will be extra special as our granddaughter celebrates her first Christmas!

For today’s card, I combined the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder, Plaid Tidings dsp, and Most Wonderful Time product medley dies.

Today’s card would be a great one to mass produce. Especially if you left off the white shimmer paint on the tree. I love the feel of an evergreen forest this card achieves.

It’s Paper Craft Crew challenge time! How about a fun inspiration photo to get your creative mojo going.

I love the calmness in this photo. The dark blue, crisp white and a pop of red. So, that is what I drew my inspiration from.

The Paper Craft Crew would love to have you join the fun and play along. Head over to the PCC blog and check out how the rest of the design team was inspired by this photo.

Hello friends! I am happy to be back with another Paper Craft Crew Challenge! This week, we have a fun layout to work with.

I have been bitten by the slim line card bug. Plus, I just got this adorable new set from Taylored Expressions. So, I was ready to work with this sketch!

Isn’t that little reindeer ADORABLE! I colored him with Copic markers. The Merry is from Stampin’ Up!’s Peace & Joy set. How about a closer look?

There is a lot more inspiration for this card sketch over at the Paper Craft Crew blog. Come join the fun and play along!

Peace, joy and pink

As I was working on the watercolor backgrounds for the OSAT blog hop, I decided to try one in pinks. I love Christmas cards in non-traditional colors. I used Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot. I love the outcome.

The words are die cut from champagne foil. It looks so delicate against the shades of pink.

I may need to try some other colors for this design. Thanks for stopping by! Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

osat blog hop: glad tidings

Hello, friends! It’s time for this month’s One Stamp at a Time blog hop. This month our theme is Glad Tidings. Time to get in the Christmas spirit! I really am not ready for cold weather, snow and short days, but I do like working on Christmas projects.

I love creating watercolor backgrounds. So, I decided to work in some beautiful holiday blue greens. I used Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay and Shaded Spruce.

The fun, and sometimes frustrating, thing with watercolor is you never get the same result twice. The colors turned out lighter on the card panel. But I love both results.

I cut the tree out of the watercolor panel and added sentiments from the Peace and Joy bundle. Love those die cut words!

This fun frame would make a great addition to any holiday decor! It would be fun to make one for each season!

I’m so glad you stopped by! Be sure to check out the rest of the design team creations. PLEASE CLICK THE BLUE BOX FOR A POP UP LIST OF THE DESIGN TEAM.

Hello friends! Are you ready for another Paper Craft Crew Challenge?

This is a great card sketch. It is a great go-to layout with a lot of possibilities. I just got some new goodies from Stampin’ Up! that I was ready to get creative with. And immediately knew what I wanted to do with this sketch.

I love the cut out tree from the Pine Woods dies. It’s hard to see, but the Old Olive layer beneath the white oval has been embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D folder. The card base is sponged with Pear Pizzazz ink for a subtle shadow.

Texture can go along way to step up a card design. There is a lot of texture on this simple card. I love die cut words, and the Joy die cut is a fun greeting for this layout.

Head on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog and check out the rest of the inspiration from the PCC Design Team!

paper craft crew challenge #389

Wow, is it time for another Paper Craft Crew challenge already? That week flew by. Wait, I know why…We spent the week at a cabin in Northern Minnesota. It was very relaxing and good to get away for a bit.

It is good to get back in my studio though. And a PCC challenge is a great way to get the creative juices flowing again. This week’s challenge is a horizontal card sketch.

When I saw the three red strips, I knew I had to use sentiments from the new Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper in the 2020 Aug-Jan mini catalog. This paper is so much fun. I didn’t do any stamping on this card. The paper get the whole stage this time.

I fussy cut the house and tree out from one of the DSP prints and the sentiments from another. The sentiments are in several different languages. So much fun!

So, there it is. My first Christmas card of the season. I don’t even want to think about cold weather. I am definitely a summer girl.

another cup of cheer

Wow, it’s just over two weeks to Christmas! How are you doing with your Christmas cards? Do you send out many? I typically send out 80-90, not including the 30+ I make for the employees at Stamp-n-Storage.

Here is another of my recent Christmas creations. I really like coffee, and am drawn to coffee cups/mugs. So the cup of Christmas stamp set was a must have for me. This is a great card to share with a warm winter greeting.

I used the stamp set with the coordinating dies and a bit of the Let It Snow Designer Series Paper. I love the Coastal Cabana/ Real Red color combo for Christmas cards. It is so bright and fun! I tilted the cups to look like they are celebrating a toast. The two rhinestones on the white mug handle were colored with the light Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend.

I think I need to go grab a cup of coffee now. Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!
