Welcome crafty friends! Time to play along with another great challenge from the Paper Craft Crew. This week we have a fun color challenge.

This color combo puts me in the mood for spring. But, it is 12 degrees out and snow everywhere. sigh. Well, I’ll let my cards bring in the spring!

I used some inks from Taylored Expressions for today’s card: Guava, Pineapple and Confetti Cake. I also used the TE set Gus and Gertie. Love that pooch and birdie.

I have been having a lot of fun blending inks and using stencils. For this card, I lightly blended the inks on white card stock. Then, I added the stencil and blended the same inks to get a darker pattern. What a fun background for the dynamic duo.

Join the fun over at the Paper Craft Crew page and take the challenge.

Hello, crafty friends! Can you believe it is December already? This crazy year time has seemed to drag and fly at the same time. Well, let’s kick off this month with a fun Paper Craft Crew challenge!

I am in full Christmas mode now, so naturally I had to pull out some new stamps to use on this sketch.

These fun trees from The Stamp Market are great for a non traditional color scheme. I also used some gorgeous inks and glitter paper from The Stamp Market. Fun, Fresh and Festive!

Hello, crafty friends! I’m happy to be back creating with the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s challenge. Today we have a fun horizontal sketch to inspire your creativity.

I was inspired by my daughter for this card.

She is an avid reader… thus the sentiment (from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips background), She loves the out doors…thus the tree (Stampin’ Up! Pine Woods dies) and sunset watercolor, She recently got married…thus the two hearts.

How does this sketch inspire you? Join the fun over at the Paper Craft Crew! Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

Hello, my crafty friends! We kicked off October in a BIG way – my daughter got married on Oct 2!!! To add to the celebration, my new son-in-law’s birthday was Oct 1! (He better never forget their anniversary!) I used this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge for his birthday card.

He really likes sail boats, so I pulled out my Sailing Home set and my Stampin’ Blends.

I used my Night of Navy, Midnight Muse, Balmy Blue and Seaside Spray Stampin’ Blends to color the ombre panel. I stamped the white panel with the retired World Map background stamp.

You can check out more inspiration on the Paper Craft Crew blog and join in the fun! Put your creativity to work and share your project with us.

stamp review crew: drybrush

Hello crafty friends! I am happy to be back hopping with the Stamp Review Crew again. I am honored to kick things off as the first stop on today’s blog hop. If you started on another design team member’s blog, be sure to make your way through the full blog roll. You don’t want to miss any of the inspiration that awaits! Today the fun background stamp Drybrush is taking center stage!

It can be hard to let a background stamp take the spotlight. So, I tried a couple of different approaches. First I went for a neutral color with a bit of color to accent.

The sentiment is from the So Much Love stamp set. Die cuts are from Well Written and the retired Stitched Labels.

Next, I tried adding multiple colors to the Drybrush stamp for a bolder look.

I used Coastal Cabana, Bumblebee, Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral. I just swiped the ink pads across the stamp in different areas. You can get some fun shading where colors overlap. I used a stitched circle and the Playful Alphabet to made a fun little shaker circle to finish it off.

Time to send you on to check out some more great projects featuring this great background stamp. Head on over to Nikki and check out her awesome creations! If you are hopping backwards pop on over to Betty and her wonderful projects!

Hello friends, so glad you are here today. Let’s play along with a Paper Craft Crew challenge! This week we have a fun Autumn Adventure inspiration photo to get those creative juices flowing.

Inspiration photos are fun because you can really go any direction from them. Color Combos, Layout, Images, theme are just a few ideas. For this picture, I was immediately drawn to the wood background. I had the perfect wood grain DSP to use! Next I focused on the autumn produce. Here is how it all came together.

I cut a square of Plaid Tidings DSP with a Stitched Square die and added it to the lower right corner for a table runner, napkin or placemat feel. I stamped the milk can and flowers from Country home and colored them with Copics. Image is cut out and popped up on dimensionals. Sentiment is stamped on vellum attached with a couple of brads with a strip of Bumblebee dsp behind. Finished off with some linen thread and silver pearls.

I love the fall country feel of this card! What inspiration can you find in this week’s PCC challenge?

Hey there! Ready for another fun Paper Craft Crew challenge? We have another great card sketch ready and waiting!

The strip on the left edge seemed perfect for some designer series paper. So, I dug into my Plaid Tiding DSP stack. Once I saw this particular sheet, the card came together in my head. Inspired by fall and Pumpkin Spice Lattes (even thought I prefer a Mocha).

The Press On stamp set was perfect for what I had in mind. I wanted a feel of cozy flannel, so I embossed the plaid DSP strip with the Tasteful Textile 3D emboss folder. I stamped some coffee beans on the Early Espresso layer behind the coffee cup. Here’s a closer look:

I colored the coffee cup with my Stampin’ Blends. I used dark and light Mango Melody and light Daffodil Delight on the cup and dark Pumpkin Pie on the lid.

Come on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog and play along! We would love to see your take on this card sketch.

stamp review crew: celebrate sunflowers

Hello, my crafty friends! I’m so glad you are stopping by today. The Stamp Review Crew is back to shine a spotlight on one of my favorite new stamp sets: Celebrate Sunflowers!

I liked this set when I saw it in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. Once I got it and started plying with it, it quickly became one of my favorites. the giant sunflower is so much fun to color in. But, it is also great if you just stamp the outline image. Or add a watercolor wash background. Or….well, there are SO many possibilities!

I have been on a watercolor kick lately. So both of my cards use some different watercolor techniques. For my first card, I spritzed a panel of watercolor paper with water. Then, I stamped the flower and leaves on watercolor paper in Bumblebee and Old Olive inks. This made the ink bleed out. before it was completely dry, I stamped the images again to get back some of the stamp detail.

I added the Early Espresso center with my water painter. I wish I would have gone a little lighter. Maybe I should have used Soft Suede. The layered panel is a piece of vellum that I embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I think the wood grain print from In Good Taste DSP pack is a perfect base for this lovely flower. I finished off with some Linen Thread and a few Cinnamon Cider enamel dots.

For my next card, I started with a watercolor wash of Blackberry Bliss, Magenta Madness, Melon Mambo and Bumblebee.

I added some black flecks with my Stampin’ Write marker and stamped the smaller sunflower in black. Don’t you just love that large sunflower die cut! I went back to the In Good Taste DSP pack for the lighter woodgrain base and added a couple of bits of Bumblebee DSP. A few rhinestone and some Magenta Madness and Embroidered ribbon finish it off.

Celebrate Sunflowers is definitely a set you need in your collection! I have so many more ideas I want to create with this.
