Card Swap

it’s a good day

Hello friends! Just popping on quick to share a fun card I made for a recent card swap. I was looking at the zoo Globe set and started to see sketches on notebook paper. That lead to this fun design.

to get the blackboard feel, I just smudged some white craft ink on the black card stock. I love the whimsical feel I was able to achieve!

thank goodness for grandma

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the Stampin’ Up! On Stage event in Las Vegas. It was so much fun getting to see old friends, make new ones and get to see the NEW Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog! Check back for some fun sneak peeks soon.

I also had the chance to attend a fun event hosted by the TGIF Challenges design team. Fabulous make&takes, amazing displays, and more wonderful friends. We each made a card to swap for this event. Here is mine:

I used Grandma’s House stamp set and the bubblewrap water color technique. Colors are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Lovely Lipstick, Basic Black.

I love swapping at these events. It is so much fun to meet new people and get so many great card ideas.

check you out 2

I’m back today with another card with the Check You Out stamp set. I love this stamp set. It is so much fun! This card is one I designed for a recent card swap with other Stampin’ Up! demonstrators.

That little worm is so stinkin’ cute! Look at him and his little bow tie. Such a dapper little guy. This was a fun card to design. The colors play off of the cheerful smile the little worm is giving. I like how the layered circles off set the edges of the stack of books. Colors are Pool Party, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake.

The card I made to swap had a couple of minor changes. I used a scalloped circle punch instead of the scalloped die for the Daffodil Delight circle. The punch was just a little bigger. I also left off the rhinestones.

very versaille

Wow, it is already the middle of July. Why does it seem like time is passing by faster and faster? Is this the perception as you get older? It would be nice if things would slow down a bit.

I have had a lot of creative time in my studio working with products from the NEW Stampin’ Up! catalog. I have some fun projects waiting to share with you!

I recently participated in a few card swaps with other demonstrators. I love to trade ideas! It is so much fun to see everyone’s creativity and get ideas for stamp sets I may not own.

This is one of the cards I designed to swap –

It features the new stamp set Very Versaille. I absolutely LOVE the script stamp! Colors are: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso. The torn edges are a bit of vellum. It gives added texture and softens the background color. I often overlook vellum. It really has a lot of versatility.

Wow! On stage was AH-MAZING!  I love getting to spend time with my SU! Demo friends and see so many creative ideas.  Not to mention getting the NEW Occasion Catalog and Sale-a-Bration brochure!  So. Much. FUN!!  I can’t wait to share all the new goodies with you!  Today, I wanted to share one more of the cards I made to swap at On Stage.

Lift Me up: just a note - Center Stage Stamping

I used Lift Me up stamp set and chose my colors from the Garden Impressions DSP.  I love Soft Sea Foam.  It is such a gentle color.  So much fun to swap with demos from around the world!  Love it. Live it. Share it.

Today Blooms

Just popping on with a quick post today.  I’m getting prepped to start blocking at today’s rehearsal for the High School play I’m directing.  The most tedious part of directing – figuring out who moves where, when and why.  At least today’s card wasn’t tedious to make, even though I made 20 of them for a recent swap. I really love the delicate feel of this one.

Perennial Birthday - Center Stage Stamping

I used the Perennial Birthday set.  Colors are Rose Red, Soft Sky, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz and Crumb Cake.  The Soft Sky card base has been embossed with the Simple Stripes Textured Impressions embossing folder.  The sentiment is embossed in white on a strip of Wood Textures designer series paper.  This is hands down my favorite designer series pack.  I LOVE the various wood textures/ grains.  They are a great addition to many projects.  A few rhinestones and a small linen thread bow add the finishing details.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!
