stamp review crew: sale-a-bration bonus

Hello crafty friends! The Stamp Review Crew is back with a BONUS blog hop this month! Normally, we put one stamp set center stage and everyone in the blog hop creates projects with that set. For this hop we are shining a spotlight on the different stamp sets in the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration brochure. (You can get these sets FREE with a qualifying purchase.)

My project uses the Berry Blessings stamp set and Berry Delightful DSP – a fun bundle you can get with a $100 purchase.

Doesn’t this card make you think of a summer picnic, warm summer days and snacks of delicious fresh berries. Maybe staring at projects made with this will help me through the long winter here in MN… sigh.

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to the first Paper Craft Crew challenge of the new year. If you are unfamiliar with the Paper Craft Crew, it is a fun challenge blog that has weekly craft challenges to help jump start your creativity. I am honored to be part of the PCC Design Team. We are going to start the year with a fun vertical card sketch.

Of course, when I looked at this sketch I saw those 3 triangles and naturally I thought…Strawberries! (OK, so maybe I had some new products from Stampin’ Up!’s 2021 Sale-A-Bration on my desk that might have influenced that a bit.) I grabbed the Berry Blessings Stamp set and Berry Delightful DSP – which is a fun bundle you can earn for FREE with a $100 purchase from Jan. 5-Feb 28- and got to work. Here is my take on the sketch.

I cut out the large strawberries from one sheet of the DSP and used another for the background panel. I had a fun sheet of burlap paper that I found at Hobby Lobby and thought it was a great base for the berry trio.

Well, now I am longing for warm summer days and fresh strawberries…. Sigh, it will be awhile before that happens.

Come on over to the Paper Craft Crew blog and play along!

stamp review crew: so sincere

Hello my crafty friends! Welcome to the first Stamp Review Crew blog hop of the new year!  If you are not familiar with The Stamp Review Crew, we are a group of international Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who hop together on the first and third Monday of the month to bring you some great inspiration. Each blog hop features a different stamp set. You can find all of the blog hops archived on the Stamp Review Crew blog. We are going to kick off 2021 by shining a spotlight on the awesome sentiment set So Sincere.

For both of my cards, I embossed the sentiments on some designer series paper. I like the bit of design behind the words. It gives some depth to the image. My first card also uses the Celebrate Sunflowers set and dies, In Good Taste and 20-21 In Color DSP Stack, and the In Color Bumblebee ink.

For my second card I added a beautiful peony that I die cut out of water color paper and colored with Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green and Garden Green ink refills.

This particular sentiment works for a variety of occasions. This card would be great for a birthday or a wedding. The So Sincere set is full of some great sentiments in wonderful fonts and opens the door to lots of design possibilities.

I hope you will work your way through the full Stamp Review Crew blog hop for more great inspiration! From here you can click on the NEXT button below to head on over to talented Cindy or click on the PREVIOUS button to go back to creative Betty

those we hold most dear

It is amazing the connection you can make with a hand made card. It is a special way to reach out to your friends and family. Connect with those we hold most dear. Every card I make has a little bit of me that goes with it. My creativity, thoughts, smiles… So much to pass on to another.

In a world filled with instant messaging, email and texts, don’t underestimate the power of holding a card in your hands. It is a tangible connection. It is important that we don’t let go of these moments. Share hand made joy!

Have a Happy New year! I hope you will join me as I continue to shine a spotlight on creativity in 2021!

special moments

Today’s card is another special order. It will be sent to someone who recently had their first baby. I was asked to somehow incorporate that into the card. I knew the snow globe with mama and baby bear would be perfect.

I opted for a soft color pallet – Sahara Sand card base, Whisper White panel, Pool Party, Highland Heather and Petal Pink blended in the snow globe. The trees are cut out of both vellum and glitter paper and the bears are cut out of white flocked paper.

It was a lot of fun designing this card. I had my 9 month old granddaughter on my mind the whole time. She definitely influenced this creation.

slice of joy

As we reach the end of December, I have a couple Christmas cards left to share with you. Today I am mad for buffalo plaid! There is something about the red and black check that screams winter to me.

This card uses the Buffalo Check back ground stamp, Pretty Pines dies (retired) and Joy die from Stampin’ Up! and Crimped Frame and Wood Slices dies from The Greetery

A fun, rustic way to send some Christmas JOY! I am so excited to share my granddaughter’s first Christmas! It definitely adds a new JOY to the season! I hope you have a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

sending holiday cheer

I have to share one more card featuring the Taylored Expressions Fluffy Friends set. I have used the polar bear and reindeer, but I had yet to use the sweet little penguin. So, I decided he had to have his moment in the spotlight.

I used a stencil to add a fun pattern to the card base. I am really liking the mini slim line cards. They measure 3.5″ x 6″. This little guy is sure to spread lots of holiday cheer!

We are down to the last two Paper Craft Crew challenges for 2020! This one is a two week challenge. You have extra time to play along! This challenge is to feature your favorite holiday stamp set.

This was a really hard decision for me. I love so many of my Christmas stamp sets. I finally settled on O Holy Night from Papertrey Ink. It has phrases from many Christmas hymns. For my card I chose to use “Joy to the World”.

I printed the music on some vanilla card stock. The sentiment is embossed in white on a stitched die cut circle. I used the Pine Boughs die from The Stamp Market cut in two shades of green, a plaid bow, and some red rhinestones to finish off the card.

Join the fun with The Paper Craft Crew and show us your favorite holiday stamp set! Thanks for stopping by! join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

have a dog-gone good Christmas

I have to say I am especially happy with my card today. It was a special order for someone. She wanted a card for her adult son who works with dogs. I pulled out the Playful Pets designer series paper and used my Scan N Cut to cut out a bunch of these adorable pups. Then I had to figure out how to turn it into a Christmas card. Why not have the puppers decorating a tree?

I’m sure those gifts are full of chewy bones and squeaky toys for the good doggos. This one makes me smile every time I look at it. Which reminds me, I need to pick up the chewy treats for my pup, my son’s dog and my daughter and son-in-law’s three dogs! Every pup should have a gift under the tree!
