Stampin Up! On Stage

happiness today

Starting off a crazy week for me. It is dress rehearsal/ performance week for the Hutch Middle School musical that I am co-directing: James and the Giant Peach, Jr. My eyes are on next Monday, when it is all over and I crash. Hoping to get more time in my studio next week.

In the mean time here is a card I created to send to another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. Last November at Stampin’ Up! On Stage in Las Vegas, one round of the Prize Patrol recipients were given two stamp sets witht he stipulation that they must give one of the sets away to another Demonstrator. One very sweet demo chose to share her prize with me, and gave me the beautiful Breathtaking Bouquet background stamp. I said I would make her a card with it in return. Here is the card I made:

The card base is Sahara Sand with a layer of vellum that is cut with one of the scalloped rectangles in the Stitched So Sweetly die set and embossed with the Subtle emboss folder. The sentiment, from So Sentimental, is heat embossed in white on Gray Granite card stock. The flowers and leaves are from the Cherry Blossom dies in Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Pear Pizzazz. The Polka Dot ribbon is a great addition to accent the softness of the card. This sentiment is so versatile and would work for numerous occasions.

forever blossoms

Ready for another sneak peek from the NEW Stampin’ UP! Mini Catalog? Let me introduce you to a few products from one of my favorite suites: Parisian Blossoms. And possibly my favorite product in the entire mini catalog…Champagne Rhinestones!!! I will definitely be stocking up on these!

This card is another of the make&take projects from November’s Stampin’ Up! OnStage event. These projects not only give us a chance to use new products, they also give us a chance to try new techniques. On the last card we stamped on ribbon. This time we stepped up designer series paper! The flowers were stamped in Basic Gray ink and colored with Petal Pink and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. You can really customize your projects with this technique.

peaceful poppies

Ready for sneak peek of a GORGEOUS suite from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2020 Mini Catalog!?!? This was one of out make&take projects from Stampin’ Up! OnStage last month. One of my favorite things about attending Stampin’ Up! events is getting a sneak peek at NEW products and getting to create with them. Introducing the stunning Peaceful Poppies Suite…

This card features two new stamp sets, beautiful designer series paper and new ribbon. Check this out…The ribbon is Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding. What’s that? The ribbon on the card looks green, you say? Yes, yes it does. How did we do that? We STAMPED ON IT! Seriously, stamped right on the ribbon. Think of the possibilities!!!!

thank goodness for grandma

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend the Stampin’ Up! On Stage event in Las Vegas. It was so much fun getting to see old friends, make new ones and get to see the NEW Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalog! Check back for some fun sneak peeks soon.

I also had the chance to attend a fun event hosted by the TGIF Challenges design team. Fabulous make&takes, amazing displays, and more wonderful friends. We each made a card to swap for this event. Here is mine:

I used Grandma’s House stamp set and the bubblewrap water color technique. Colors are Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Lovely Lipstick, Basic Black.

I love swapping at these events. It is so much fun to meet new people and get so many great card ideas.

on stage: theatre and stamping

Well… the past two months flew by! I haven’t had much creative time in my studio lately. My days were filled with directing the play “Shadowlands” for our local community theatre. It was a beautiful story and I am grateful for the opportunity to bring it to life on stage.

I also had the opportunity to attend Stampin’ Up!’s local On Stage event in Minneapolis on April 13. (Yep, same day as the final performance of Shadowlands. I made it back just in time!) It was a great time to reconnect with my demonstrator friends and of course getting the NEW 2019-20 Stampin’ Up! catalog!

So many exciting and fun new stamp sets and products are coming! One of the benefits of attending On Stage is the opportunity to preview products from the new catalog. We got to use new product for our make and take projects, plus we were able to order from a selection of new items!

These were the make and take projects featuring four new product suites and a preview of the May Paper Pumpkin kit – designed with Stampin’ Up! cofounder Shelli Gardner.

Now that my calendar is a bit more open, I hope to get back to creating in my studio again. Not going to lie, kind of feel like my mojo is still hibernating from the ridiculously long winter. Time to get inky!

I blended Pineapple Punch, Mango Melody and Grapefruit Grove for a fun sunset look.  The perfect backdrop for a sweet daisy flower. Stay tuned for an On Stage recap next week after I get home! I’m off to swap (and maybe a visit to Disney this evening!)

rooted in nature

Just popping on to share one of the make and take projects from last month’s On Stage.  It is fun to get to play with brand new products with fellow demonstrators!

rooted in nature - Center Stage Stamping

I had the chance to work with the Rooted in Nature stamp set and Nature’s Poem designer series paper for the display samples I made.  But I loved adding in the Nature’s Twine and Leaves Trinkets.

There is a LOT of fun new stuff coming in the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! catalog!  Including a color revamp!! I am so ready for a fresh infusion of color.  Here is a look at the new color family line up.

Best news – COASTAL CABANA IS BACK!!  I. Am. So. Happy.  I can’t wait to start creating with all of these new colors.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

display samples – part 8

It was a crazy weekend with performances for my high school play-“All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”.  The cast did a great job.  I am very proud of those kids.  It was bittersweet to see it end as it was my last play as director for HHS.  I will miss my theatre kids immensely.

Here are my last two projects from my display samples – 2 scrapbook pages.  I think these are my favorite of the 21 items I created.  I usually struggle with scrapbook pages, but these came together pretty quick.  As soon as I saw this leaf print in the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper, I knew the picture I had to use.  The colors reminded me of my daughter’s wedding last summer.  I thought I would be perfect to show off my two beautiful girls – bride and maid of honor.

Be Strong - Center Stage Stamping

I added a piece of Wood Textures designer series paper under the picture.  It echoed the rustic theme of the wedding decor.  The sentiment from Rooted in Nature was a perfect message for my girls – Be Strong, Be Happy, Be You.

This next page features one of Rachel’s Senior pictures.  She LOVES books, so this shot of her with a stack of her favorites was perfect.

Never Enough Words - Center Stage Stamping

I used some old and new on this project. I used sentiments from both NEW Rooted in Nature and Sea of Textures sets.  The old is the current Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper. I typed the words on the white panel and added the leaf stamp behind.  I think this page really show my daughter’s love of reading.   There are a lot of little fun elements that add to the interest of the page.  It was a lot of fun to put together.

That is it for my display samples form On Stage Milwaukee.  I hope you enjoyed them.  I certainly enjoyed creating them and sharing them with you.

display samples – part 7

Opening night of the high school play was great.  Small audience, but very responsive.  The cast was fantastic.  I am so proud of them!

We have almost reached the end of my display samples.  Today, I have a couple of gift packaging ideas for you.  The first is a cute little pouch made with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  I am sad that this is retiring, but I will definitely keep mine.  I think it is great for packaging a gift card.

Just for You bag - Cetner Stage Stamping

I cut the treat bag out of the Natures Poem Designer Series Paper.  I wrapped a band of Mint macron which had been stamped with one of the leaves from Rooted in Nature.  The little label is from the Stitched Labels Framelits.  A bit of doily peeking out from under the label is a fun touch.

This next project is a gift bag made from one sheet of 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper, I used Nature’s Poem.

12x12 gift bag - Center Stage Stamping

I found a pattern on line for folding the bag.  I create handles from the new Silver and Petal Pink Baker’s Twine.  I put several strands together, threaded them through holes punched in the bag.  I tied a knot in the center of the handle for added detail.  The label is again from the Stitched Labels Framelits.  What a fun way to package a gift for a friend.

I’ll be back on Monday with my last two display projects.  These are my solid favorites of all 21 projects I created for On Stage Milwaukee!  But first i have to wrap up the run of this play.  On with the show!!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!
