stamp review crew: free as a bird

Time for another Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop! Today we are putting the beautiful Free As A Bird stamp set in the spotlight. This set is part of the amazing Bird Ballad Suite of products which includes the gorgeous Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, Nested Label Dies and Bird Ballad Trinkets. (All of which I used on today’s card!)

I saw a fantastic card layout done by Ronda Wade and it inspired me to try it with these products. It is a fun tri-fold card that let’s you feature the beautiful DSP in a unique way. Here is the front of the card as it is closed. I cut a window with one of the Nested Label Dies. I love that you get the stitching on both the cut out and the negative. Next I fussy cut around the branch of birds that I had colored with my Stampin’ Blends. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the side and tied on one of the Bird Ballad Trinkets.

When you open the front of the card, you get a great view of that beautiful paper.

But, that is not where it ends! Open it one more time…

You get a peek at the reverse side of the beautiful DSP. On the center panel, I added a Petal Pink panel that I stamped on with Petal Pink ink for a tone on tone look. I used the Nested Label that I cut out from the card front for the sentiment and added a flower and leaves that I colored with Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut out.

check you out

Do you enjoy reading? I love to read. I was so excited to see the Check You Out stamp set in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog. I knew it would be on my first order. It is so cute! This card started as a swap design, but I went a different direction. I had some of these pieces laying on my desk and decided to put them together with this result.

What a fun card this would be to give a graduate! That little owl is just darling. Here’s a closer look at the detail with the heart.

And a look at the inside.

time to shine

Flowers are finally blooming in Minnesota! Daisies are one of my favorites. I especially love Gerbera Daisies. Naturally, I was excited to get the new Daisy Lane stamp set at Stampin’ Up! On Stage event in April. And even more excited to add the new Medium Daisy punch to my collection. Put them together and I had a ton of fun creating. I was able to make my own garden of cards that will never wilt! Here is one of those creations.

I stamped the medium daisy in Memento Black ink and colored the flower centers and the background with my Stampin’ Blends. (Daffodil Delight and Seaside Spray) I love that you can create custom backgrounds with the Blends. I punched two medium daisies out of Whisper White and layered them. For the center, I punched out a bunch of Daffodil Delight dots with my 1/8″ handheld punch (retired) and glued them in the flower center. The sentiment is on Daffodil Delight. I layered a piece of retired black and white paper behind the sentiment. I love stripes and flowers together.

set sail

Hello! I had some really good creative time in my studio last week. It felt so good to just unleash my creativity. I have some really fun projects to share with you. And some more ideas still in my head. But first I need to clean up from the craftnado that hit my desk.

Before things got to this point, I created today’s project. I was working on a card for a custom order and playing around with blending inks for a sunset background. My first attempt looked more like a sunrise to me, so I set it aside. Once I had the other card finished, I came back to this first attempt and used it to create this card.

Sailing Home: Set sail sunrise - Center Stage Stamping

The sail boat cut out is from the Come Sail Away Memories and More card pack. So quick and easy for the main image. I did another blended piece to cut out the stitched circle for the sentiment. I also continued the blending on the inside of the card.

Sailing Home: Set sail sunrise inside - Center Stage Stamping

Colors are Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Terracotta Tile, and Night of Navy and are blended with a Stampin’ Sponge. I really like this effect and need to try some other color combos. What color combo would you like to see? Leave me a comment and I’ll try it out.

still rosy

Looks like we have had our 2 days of spring for the year. This past Sunday was beautiful as was yesterday. otherwise, it has been cold and rainy for the past few weeks. (we won’t even talk about April…) Today it is supposed to be 80, so it looks like we are jumping right to summer. Minnesota, I think you skipped a step.

It is the last days for the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! catalog. So while we say goodbye to a lot of fun stamp sets and product, know that there are many great new things coming your way. The NEW 2019-20 catalog goes live on Tuesday, June 4! I’ve got some fun new projects waiting to share with you.

This also means that you only have a couple of days left to snag the Everything is Rosy medley! DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS ONE! Is is simply gorgeous. I’ve got one more project to convince you you need this.

Everything is Rosy: congratulations - Center Stage Stamping

For the card base, I cut out the strip die and used it as a mask to sponge ink for a subtle background detail to frame the strips of the Everything is Rosy Designer Series Paper. Seriously, isn’t that paper ah-mazing? The picture really doesn’t do justice to the rose gold accents. The foil accents are the best! (I am really hoping Stampin’ Up! will bring out more Rose Gold products.)

So, what are you waiting for? Order this fantastic product medley before it is gone for good! You can get it in my online store here. Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

blessed sweet baby

Still waiting for Minnesota’s weather to catch up to the correct season. Sheesh. I really should move south. But then there are more snakes and spiders and other creatures. Hmmm… Minnesota, get your act together!

Meanwhile, I have had some more fun in my studio with the Everything is Rosy medley. My daughter and son-in-law’s best friends just had a sweet little baby girl! So, naturally I had to make a card for this little bundle.

Everything is Rosy: blessed baby - Center Stage Stamping

I LOVE the floral prints in this DSP stack. This delicate print was perfect for a baby card! I did a wash with the Rose Gold Shimmer paint before I stamped the “Blessed” from the new To A Wild Rose set. Of course I had to decorate the envelope as well.

Here’s a closer look at some details:

everything is rosy dear friend

Well, it is May 23 and Minnesota weather is still yucky. I want a spring do over. Remind me why do I live here again? I guess I will just keep bringing out the spring in my craft room by creating with bright colors and flowers. The Everything IS Rosy Medley from Stampin’ Up! is currently in a prominent place on my desk.

: Dear Friend card - Center Stage Stamping

I had to throw in my rose gold pineapple in the back ground again. I LOVE this designer series paper. The Rose Gold accents are just ah-mazing! I need more of it. I added the little dots of Rose Gold shimmer paint with the stylus tip of my Take Your Pick tool. I LOVE the Everything Rosy medley. Especially all the glorious ROSE GOLD accents. It fits perfectly in my studio which is full of rose gold accents. Here’s a look at the top corner of my Ikea Kallax shelf:

And check out these gorgeous necklaces my friend Michelle over at Stampin’ Robin made for me with the Everything is Rosy dsp!

everything is rosy

I love Rose Gold. In fact, it is the accent color in my white and gray studio. I even found rose gold drawer pulls! When Stampin’ Up! announced the Everything Rosy Medley and we saw that Rose Gold was a prominent feature, I knew I HAD to have it. And I was not disappointed. It is GORGEOUS! The rose gold foil highlights, mirror disc embellishments and shimmer paint are fan-tab-u-lous! I may need to order a second kit so I don’t run out. Oh, and did I mention, you can create Ah-Mazingly cute projects with it! Check it out –

The photo doesn’t do justice to the gorgeous rose gold foil on the designer series paper, die cuts or the spatter of rose gold shimmer paint. The Everything Rosy kit comes with sheets of printed and rose gold die cuts that help cards come together even faster.

I adhered the strip of DSP to the inside of the card and trimmed of 1.5″ from the card front for a unique look. The sentiment label and die cuts hang over the front edge. I LOVE everything about this kit. Grab yours today – but hurry it is only available until May 31!

flowers bloom

Flowers aren’t blooming here quite yet. This has been the winter that never ends. Ugh. It snowed here last Thursday night. Thankfully it was all gone by morning, but Duluth got 8 inches! Someone please file a missing season report and get the authorities searching to find Spring! At least flowers can always be found in my studio!

Here is a fun pocket card to brighten someone’s day. I started with a piece of 6″x6″ blueberry Bushel DSP folded in half. I folded over the top corner and adhered the open edges to create the pocket. The pull out tag can also double as a bookmark.

Colors are Blueberry Bushel, Pool Party and Lemon Lime Twist. Stamp set Is All That You are in the 2019 Occasions catalog.

Hopefully I can get flowers planted in my yard and front step planter soon. Bring on summer! Thanks for stopping by. Join me again to shine a spotlight on creativity!

osat blog hop: fabulous florals

It is time for another One Stamp at a Time blog hop! Today, we are spotlighting those fabulous florals. I am SO ready for them to start blooming around here. I was over winter three months ago! And yet we keep getting cold weather and snow… ah, spring time in Minnesota.

My projects feature the beautiful All That You Are stamp set and the gorgeous Floral Romance Designer Series Paper in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.

This card and sweet little gift box would be great for a bridal shower or for a good friend.

I started with a Soft Sea Foam card base and stamped the floral spray in Mossy Meadow. The floral vellum in the Floral Romance dsp is so beautiful. And the dark leaves help hide the adhesive as does the corrugated Mossy Meadow strip. The sentiment is embossed in white on Fresh Fig card stock and tied with a bit of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon. A few Frosted Flower embellishments with pearls in the center complete the card.

This adorable little gift box uses one of the Clear Tiny Treat boxes wrapped in the floral vellum. The top is decorated with the flowers and other dies from the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.

A little bit of Fresh Fig ribbon and some pearls are the perfect accents for the florals. The sentiment is from the Well Said stamp set also in the 2019 Occasions Catalog.
